Jazz Night

Every morning I pass the botanical garden on my way to the tram stop. Today, I noticed a sign, and actually understood it, for jazz night so I decided to check it out.

It was 100 Kč (~$5.50) to get in but that included free beer and Kofola. Not a bad deal. The botanical gardens were nice but everything was in Czech and Latin so I really didn't get a lot out of it. Here's a link, in English, that tells about the gardens... - http://www.sci.muni.cz/bot_zahr/index_en.cz.htm

Apparently it was hat day at the garden because the ladies had on their chapeaux.

The pics of the garden are already on Flickr. And here is my second video experiment.

  1. The "Jazz Night" is held every year on the occasion of the "Victoria regina" bloomming.
This is a very large waterlily which flourish just for a 24hrs in a whole year.

  2. Hi Christopher,

    Great blog!

I came across your blog, as I was looking for information on Brno, my partner has just accepted an offer to work for IBM Brno, and I would like some information on everyday life, such as standard of life? cost of accommodation? he will be paid 25000(local Czech currency), will this be enough for both of us as I will be moving with him, and we are expecting a baby for next March? It would be great if you can help us with as much information as you can please.
By the way we're not American, we're French living in the UK at the moment.

    Many thanks in advance

  3. OT. The Latin name of the flower is Victoria regia (= Royal Victoria), not Victoria regina (= Queen Victoria).
